The EIMA Exhibition 2024 has officially begun, welcoming 1,748 exhibitors, including 675 international exhibitors from 50 countries and showcasing an impressive 60,000 machinery models all contributing to the future of agriculture.
Tonight’s opening press conference provided an invaluable opportunity for the media to engage with EIMA’s leadership, focusing on strategies for advancing African agriculture, including sustainable practices, trade opportunities and policy support for mechanisation.
Key questions posed to EIMA’s leadership included:
-What is EIMA’s approach to introducing sustainable agricultural models in Africa? Are partnerships or pilot projects on the horizon?
-What role will EIMA play in supporting African businesses within the AfCFTA and have they engaged with bodies like SADC and SACU to maximise regional opportunities?
-Incentives for Modern Mechanisation, what structures are being proposed to help African farmers adopt modern technologies?
-With the growing need for skilled technicians in agri-mechanisation, what training initiatives does EIMA plan to implement?
As EIMA 2024 unfolds, we look forward to the innovations, partnerships and dialogues that will shape the future of African and global agriculture.
